About the owner
Maria Repetto, from San Jose, Ca was raised in the Almaden area from the age of 11 years old. Her dream of becoming a hair stylist was made a reality when she graduated from cosmetology school and became officially licensed in October 2007. She was hired November 1, 2007 at a brand new salon in Campbell and assisted the owners in growing the business while simultaneously growing her own clientele. She quickly was named the manager of that salon by the end of 2008 and went on to hiring 8 new stylists and training 4 of them when they joined her team from cosmetology school.
While learning the ins and outs of business and making a name for herself in the industry she decided it was time to finally fulfill her own dream of owning a hair salon. On November 1, 2014 exactly 7 years to the day she took over the keys and ownership of Salon De La Vie in Downtown Willow Glen. By March 2015, Maria had worked with the help of family and friends nights and days salon was closed to completely remodel the little house on the inside. Refurnishing the stations/rooms and transforming the entire decor of the salon. And by this time Capelli Couture Salon was officially it's new name.
The business grew rapidly into a full hair salon with 9 stations, 4 wash stations and a reception area. She was able to blend new stylists with veteran stylists of the old salon and they have all now become a "work family." In September 2015, Maria was asked to fly to New Jersey for a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on the hair team backstage at the Miss America Competition. She has accomplished a long list of achievements in the industry from working behind the scenes doing hair in San Francisco for Fashion shows, traveling around the United States for special events or weddings, traveling outside the United States for weddings and special classes, and doing hair onsite for magazine clothing line photo shoots.
Maria encourages the stylists to peruse their own dreams/passions within the industry and is constantly challenging them to work hard, push their limits, and step beyond their comfort zones. Maria has plans to eventually open more locations and continue to serve the beauty industry year after year. She loves to inspire other stylists to peruse their dreams and constantly reminds fellow artists that "Anything is possible, you just need to take the first step towards whatever it is you want. The only failure we have in life is the chances we never take."
